Who is the program for?  
Sophomores, juniors and/or seniors students participating in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) within the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA&D), who are enrolled in the Foster School of Business and/or pursuing a degree in Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences.  Within the EOP, students in the Champions Program and the Brotherhood Initiative are given priority consideration.

How does it work?    The Frazier Scholars program provides valuable career development support  and financial assistance. 

• Career Support:  The Frazier Scholars program helps students’ careers through mentoring, facilitating internships, resume/interview support, and making connections to industry experts and prospective employers.

• Financial Assistance:   Students may be eligible to receive scholarships through the Frazier Scholars Fund, for unmet financial needs as determined by the University’s Financial Aid Office.  The Frazier Scholars program also helps students pay for college by facilitating relevant work experiences, such as summer internships and micro-internships at local companies.  

How will this help my career? 
Participation in the Frazier Scholars Program builds confidence, professional development skills, and social capital. We utilize our connections in the business world to help our Scholars learn about career pathways, discover opportunities, and secure employment during college and after graduation.  Simply put, becoming a Frazier Scholar enhances your job prospects! 

If I am already involved in a mentoring program, what are some other ways that the Frazier Scholar program will benefit me?  
The Frazier Scholars program is not a one size fits all program; we tailor the program to meet the individual needs and interests of our Scholars.  Some students may only utilize scholarship dollars, while other students will seek our help to build social capital in the business world. The most common request from students in the program is help with securing summer internships.  

I was referred to the program by Champions Program or BI staff, but the Financial Aid Office told me that I don’t qualify for the Frazier Scholarship. Can I still be a Frazier Scholar?
Yes. Due to financial aid packages, some of our scholars do not receive scholarship dollars, but still are invited to take advantages of our services.  

I’m pursuing a career in business, but I’m not part of Champions or the Brotherhood Initiative. Can I still be a Frazier Scholar?
A limited number of Education Opportunity Program (EOP) students may be awarded Frazier Scholarship dollars each year.  These students will also be invited to enroll in Frazier Scholars. 

I been referred, what happens now?
 The Frazier Scholars Program Coordinator will contact you to set up an informational meeting (via Zoom) to learn more about you and how our program and network of professionals can help you achieve your goals, as well as to learn about our Program Expectations    

What happens after I graduate?  Do I still receive support as a Frazier Scholars alum?
Yes! We remain committed to the success of our alumni and continue to advocate on their behalf. However, our availability for individualized coaching and resources is limited as our staff’s primary focus is on supporting current students. To learn what this looks like, see Alumni Expectations.
