Discover untapped talent

Helping our Scholars gain relevant work experience and build their social capital are essential aspects of our support model.  This is why we are committed to ensuring that Frazier Scholars secure internships and micro-internships.  Internships provide learning opportunities to build industry knowledge, professional skills, and networks.  Micro-internships are short-term paid professional assignments, often focused on a singular 20-40 hour project.

Value Proposition for Host Companies

  • Express your Values – Align your intern program with your internal commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • Build a Diverse Workforce – Broaden your reach and build a pipeline of future employees that more fully represents the voices and experiences of the whole community.
  • Enhance Internal Teams – Put your employees in a leadership role, and improve teams with the energy, creativity, and fresh perspective of interns.
  • Invest in Your Community – Hire local interns. Help close the local opportunity gap for first generation college students with diverse backgrounds.
  • Work in Partnership – Our Frazier Scholars team screens, prepares and supports interns. We simplify the process.

We invite companies who embrace the vision of Frazier Scholars to become Employer Partners and give our scholars priority consideration for internships and other employment opportunities.

“Working with Frazier Scholars is a privilege. Their unique life experiences provided me and our entire office with a perspective that is often missing in the world of finance. I looked forward to the days when the interns were in the office. Hearing the interns describe their time with us as “life changing” is something I will carry with me for the remainder of my career.”

Internship Process

  • Schedule a meeting with a Frazier Scholars staff member to learn more about becoming an Employer Partner.
  • The Frazier Scholars Team conducts initial screenings on all potential interns, and then makes hiring recommendations based on fit.
  • Host company interviews each applicant and makes job offer, following their internal human resources protocols.
  • Frazier Scholars supports scholars throughout internship.

To ensure success, we expect host companies to adhere to best practices for employing college students outlined by the Career and Internship Center at University of Washington. Additionally, we request that hosts keep an open line of communication with Frazier Scholars staff about the progress of the internship/employment experience so that we can provide comprehensive support to our Scholars.

Time Commitment: Internships- 2-3 months during the summer. Micro-internships typically range from 20-40 hours over an academic quarter.

“My internship offered a learning environment where people were eager to teach and guide me in the right direction. I appreciated the honest feedback and the opportunity to participate in different meetings at my firm.”
